Resilient Sealed Valves are suitable for isolation and
flow control applications and have a proven record
for reliability over the past 30 years for applications
in hydrocarbon service, seawater cooling systems, offshore,
onshore and marine fire mains systems, desalination
plants and power plant installations.
The ease and flexibility of material selection enables
both simple and arduous applications alike to be within
the capability of this valve series.
The valve is a bi-directional tight shut-off device incorporating
a resilient seal mechanically retained around the periphery
of the valve disc. The seal is available in various types of
elastomers, the selection being dependant on the valve duty
and working pressure and temperature. The seal seats against
a metal face machined into the body of the valve.*Positive
shut-off is achieved without excessive interference between
seat and seal ensuring maximum seal life and low seating and
unseating torques.

SOLENT & PRATT, R series
valves are of single or double offset geometry design,
developed for High Performance, Control and Isolation
duties.
They feature either integral body seat, or individual
seat, and resilient seal rings (disc mounted), both
of which are replaceable items intended to extend the
life of the valve. Valves can be supplied without the
seal for modulating duty.
The Solent & Pratt, R - series resilient soft
seal valves are available in sizes 2" to 84",
150# and 300# classes, in a wide range of castable
materials to order.
The valve is bi-directional, giving
consistently tight shut-off using seal rings of 'flat'
or 'music note'
design, dependent upon process pressures. These are
replaceable parts. Temperature limitation is dependant
on the seal material selected (Nitrile / EPDM / Buna
/ Viton). The seal can be quickly and easily replaced
in the field, no special tools are required.
Valves
size 2" - 32" are
Lloyds certified firesafe to DoT rule 54 appendix
'D' for use on ships
and offshore installations for Firewater Mains Service
and Fire Mains Isolation.
It is an ideal product for applications handling -
Seawater / Platform firewater systems / Potable water
in De-salination plants.
It is available with Gear operator, Electric, Hydraulic
or Pneumatic actuators.
